The full sized animal has been lying in a tributary just off the River Swilly between Bonar Engineering and new Aldi premises.
Indeed it has become something of a weird visitor attraction with vehicles pulling up on this busy road to view the remains. The smell alone has attract much adverse comment too with several callers ringing ‘Donegal on Sunday’ to complain about it.
It is not known if anyone has come forward to claim the carcass but animal welfare groups have expressed concern and annoyance that the authorities have left the animal rotting all week.
One source, who did not wish to be named, said not only did the animal pose a health threat but it was unsightly and not a great advertisement for the town. Read More
