Amy Winehouse funeral: Mitch Singer's father says "goodnight, my angel" in tribute


Amy Winehouse's father Mitch said "goodnight" to his daughter today earlier than her funeral finished with family and friends singing her favorite song.
Huge numbers of people paid their last honors to the disturbed singer at the Edgwarebury Cemetery in north London before of a private service.
Her father's tribute finished with the words "Goodnight, my angel, sleeps fixed. Mummy and Daddy love you always so much."
The service, which integrated prayers in English and Hebrew plus Mr. Winehouse's tribute, finished with a performance of the Carole King song So Far Away.
A spokesman for the family said: "Mitch was humorous, he told some great narratives from childhood about how willful she was, and undoubtedly the family and friends known the stories and giggled along.
"He worried several times she was more contented now than she had ever been and he spoke about her boyfriend and paid compliments to a numerous of people in her life."
Amongst the visitors at the service were artist Alex Foden, who has been attributed with creating Winehouse's trademark beehive hairdo, producer Mark Ronson and singer Kelly Osbourne.
After the service, which was headed by Rabbi Frank Hellner, Winehouse's body was taken to Golders Green Crematorium, where her grandmother was cremated.
The family will hold a two-day Shiva - a customary period of grief in the Jewish faith - after the service.
Alfie Ezekiel, a friend of her father, said: "Mitch gave a very good tribute and he organized to obtain through it very well, thinking.
"He said the lot. I don't desire to depart into explain but his last words were 'Goodnight, my sweetheart'."
He said the service - during which Mr. Winehouse was the only family member to talk- was "enjoyable" and "renowned" the 27-year-old singer's life.
"It was very moving," he added.
The 55-year-old, from Loughton, Essex, who works in the textile industry, said between 300 and 400 mourners attended the service.

Juvenile Singer ‘Amy Winehouse’ found dead in her London's home


Amy Winehouse, 27,Singer has been found dead at her north London residence.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman verified that a 27-year-old woman had passed away in Camden and that the basis of death was as yet unveiled.
London Ambulance Service said it had been described to the flat at 1554 BST and sent two vans but the woman died.
The dilemma singer had a long fought with drink and drugs which surpassed her latest musical career. She pulled out of a comeback tour last month.
Previous month, the north Londoner pulled out of the European tour after she was taunted at the first concert in Serbia for showing too drunk to perform.
For 90 minutes, she muttered through parts of songs and at times left the stage - leaving her band to fill in.

Winehouse had won extensive compliments, aged 20, with her 2003 entrance album, Frank.
But it was 2006's Back to Black which brought her internationally celebrity, succeeding five Grammy Awards.
Rumors of Winehouse's death started flowing on Twitter on Saturday evening. Among those to comment was ex prime minister's wife Sarah Brown.
"Sad sad news of Amy Winehouse - marvelous talent, outstanding voice, and heartbreaking death, condolences to her family," she tweeted.
Singer and anchor Myleene Klass tweeted: "OMG. Amy Winehouse. Outstanding talent and in fact polite lady. RIP."
BBC Radio 1 DJ Fearne Cotton wrote: "Can’t believe the news. Amy was a unique girl. The saddest news."
Daily Telegraph rock critic Neil McCormick said he was "absolutely shocked" at her death.
He said she had showed paid intention when giving an "remarkable performance" for a current studio recording of a duet with Tony Bennett.
"It's extremely sad. It's the most entirely tragic waste of talent that I can remember," he added.
The disturbed singer made her last public outward show on Wednesday night when she tied her goddaughter Dionne Bromfield on stage at The Roundhouse in Camden.
The singer danced with Bromfield and encouraged the viewers to purchase her album in the impromptu appearance before leaving the stage.
At the time she pulled out of the tour, her spokesman had said everybody desired to do everything to "help her return to her best".
