Chanel Brisbane 2011

Last night Brad and I attended the glamorous Chanel party/parade at Old Government House.  We were greeted by a man in a white golf buggy who drove us down to the lawned section where a fabulous white painted platform had been installed.  There were so many people we knew and it really was such a lovely party.  My favourite champange, Perrier Jouet flowed on and on throughout the night.  Unfortunately the photos I snapped on my i-phone didn't really turn out very well but you can see that we had a wonderful vantage point.  Our seats were front row at the end of the catwalk...AMAZING!!

Oh and here I am just before we left.   I wore black of course.  My eyes look red and very tired...obviously a sign of absolute exhaustion...it's been a big year!  I can't wait for the holidays!

Thanks Chanel for inviting us to your beautiful party.  We had a fabulous time and dinner with FF and Mr FF afterwards was fab too!!

Crazy Fashion Looks Ever

Fashion has always been a bit strange and unusual. Artists and fashion creators were always trying to find the strangest and most original expression and new ways to shock the public. Have a look at this great collection of the weirdest fashion creations. Some of them are not so successful.

Today

Today I collected together a little group of mismatched, brightly coloured fabrics for some cushions for a client's sofa.  I never tire of putting different fabric combinations together and I always try to make sure each client has a different combination so as to keep their look unique to them.  Lately I have been so inspired by fashion and the combinations of different fabrics fashion designers have been using in one outfit.  I love the way Easton Pearson mixes fabrics and incorporates beading, frilling and special details in their designs.  The top image is actually a collection of Easton Pearson dresses from 2008.  I like the colour combination used in those 4 dresses and would love to create a room scheme using this image as inspiration.

Air Force 1's Don't Have Anything on Mike Schmidt

Nike recently released a new line of shoes for baseball legends called the "Nike Trainer 1.2 Mid". Former Phillie Mike Schmidt was one of five players chosen to be part of Nike's 'Legends Pack' of the special edition shoes. (Several other athletes are associated with the standard Trainer Mid, but we're just looking at the Legends Pack.)

As you probably guessed, the pic above is Schmidt's. The color scheme of each shoe is comprised of that players’ uniform colors. In addition, each legend has their own unique and personalized logo on the shoe as well, so that’s kinda cool. Schmidt's was created with his jersey number '20' while using the Phils' 1980 logo as inspiration.

The other legends with new shoes in the line are Ken Griffey Jr, Nolan Ryan, Bo Jackson, and future HoF’er Albert Pujols. You can check each one out HERE.  Personally, I think Schmidt’s and Ryan’s are a lot cooler than the other three, but then again, what do I know. Certainly nothing about spending $125 on sneakers.
