Ben & Phoebe's Beautiful Wedding

It was a wedding like no other.  It was the most beautiful party for the 2 most beautiful people you could ever wish to meet.

They have been through more than you could ever imagine and this weekend was in their own words - 'the greatest of their lives'.

Everyone embraced colour for what was a divine garden party at Amileka - a seriously gorgeous private home at Federal in Northern NSW.   Even Brad got into the swing of things with his navy and white polka dot bow tie.

That's my mother in that gorgeous patterned dress and Jen's hot pink Josh Goot dress was STUNNING!!

The flowers were a hit.  This Dahlia measured about 12cm across!!

Phoebe wore Vera Wang...of course!!

We used lots of vintage blue and white vases mixed with old glass bottles, jugs and tea pots which came from family members for the table flower arrangements.  No new vases were purchased. Every single flower came from our garden.  It was my gift to my cousin and Phoebe.

Phoebe's divine mum, Meg made little bottles of chutney for each guest.  The recipe was her father's.  There were so many references to the importance of family at this wedding which made the day so deeply meaningful and beautiful.

The morning after the wedding Ben's mum and dad, my Aunty Jane and Uncle Rob, prepared a huge breakfast at Ben & Phoebe's beach house for all of the wedding guests.  It was so beautiful.  The tables were set with pretty tablecloths from B&S and fresh frangipani and hibiscus.  I have no idea how they did it after what was a huge night of partying.

There was no wiping that beautiful smile from Phoebe's face all weekend.  She is the happiest girl on this planet.

And as for my Brad, he finished up like this...absolutely tanked!!

Here's to you Ben & Phoebe and the wonderful life you have in front of you!!  We love you both SO much...

Chanel Brisbane 2011

Last night Brad and I attended the glamorous Chanel party/parade at Old Government House.  We were greeted by a man in a white golf buggy who drove us down to the lawned section where a fabulous white painted platform had been installed.  There were so many people we knew and it really was such a lovely party.  My favourite champange, Perrier Jouet flowed on and on throughout the night.  Unfortunately the photos I snapped on my i-phone didn't really turn out very well but you can see that we had a wonderful vantage point.  Our seats were front row at the end of the catwalk...AMAZING!!

Oh and here I am just before we left.   I wore black of course.  My eyes look red and very tired...obviously a sign of absolute exhaustion...it's been a big year!  I can't wait for the holidays!

Thanks Chanel for inviting us to your beautiful party.  We had a fabulous time and dinner with FF and Mr FF afterwards was fab too!!

Perfect Party

I have actually posted this picture before...way back in my archives.  However, I thought I would re-post it for my cousin and his fiance as they are getting married in December HERE at this amazing property and I thought this could make for some good inspiration for them or anyone who is planning a party!!

A Party, Halloween Costume Crafts & A Marriage Link

Halloween is almost here!

On Saturday, Jocelyn & I had a really nice time at my niece Nicole's 3rd birthday party.

Jocelyn wore her thrift store dress (that she had to have) to the party.

I threw a few items from my closet together to add a silly look for myself.

I made some candy corn sugar cookies for the party.

The Halloween festivities really got me in the mood to start putting our costumes together for next weekend!

Jocelyn changed her mind and asked to be Little Red Riding Hood for Halloween. So I pulled out our old costumes and found a red hooded cape. I decided to use her old Sailor dress and some fabrics and crafts to get started.

I cut out some red fabric and used some ribbon and
lace to make an apron.

Then I added a few beads I found to give the dress a
little more color.

Not to bad for a last minute idea made from scraps found around the house! It's going to go well with her tights and cape and she'll be a cutie as always! Now
I just have to pick up and decorate a basket for her
to use to collect candy!

I also cut and frayed mine & my hubby's Indian outfits. Then I decided to put together a few embellishments for our accessories.

I found the beads, feathers and buttons at Michaels a few weeks ago.

Jocelyn is wearing the headband I glue together.

I'll probably add these to my purse and hair. Only a few more things to do and we will be ready. What fun!

Today, I did not write a post for Marriage Mondays, but I recommend that you take a moment to visit and read this post @ Come Have a Peace. Our marriages need little reminders and once again, Julie and the others who linked up did a great job encouraging us to be more intentional in our marriages!

Have a great day!
