Italian lawyer names American student ‘Knox’ a 'she-devil'

A US student blamed of murdering her British roommate in an Italian university town is "diabolical" and allocated to pleasing her own desires, even though she presents a guiltless reflection in court, the lawyer for a man temporarily blamed of the fault said Monday.

Amanda Knox, 24, was criminal of sexually assaulting and killing Meredith Kercher while they were studying in Perugia in 2007. Knox was punished to 26 years and has appealed.

Lumumba has sued Knox for offense and is also a civil party to the criminal appeal.

"Who is Amanda Knox? Is she the gentle -looking, bright-faced person you see here, or the one dedicated to lust, drugs and alcohol that appeared from the court documents?"

Lumumba's attorney Carlo Pacelli inquired the appeals court.

"Amanda is one and the other, in her a dual character coexists," he said. "Both a (saint) and a demonic, satanic, diabolical she-evil spirit, which represents her toward mediocre deeds. This was the Amanda of Nov. 1, 2007," the night of the killing.

Knox upholds police strain led her to blame Lumumba. Pacelli said in court that his client is the "2nd victim" of the sin.

Knox's co-defendant in the appeals investigation is her ex-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito. He was criminal of the same allegations and punished to 25 years. He, too, rejects misconduct.

A decision in their appeals case is expected by next week. Investigators have inquired that she be punished to life-time detention, Italy's inflexible punishment.

Also offender in different investigations was Rudy Hermann Guede from Ivory Coast. Italy's superior criminal court has sustained Guede's certainty and his 16-year imprisonment. Guede rejects wrong deeds.
