Roaring Lions, Cracking Rocks and Other Gems from Proverbs
Roaring Lions, Cracking Rocks and Other Gems from Proverbs, by Warren Baldwin is a Gem of its own!

I started reading Roaring Lions last month and found it to be an insightful book based on biblical proverbs. It was so engaging that I wanted to read much of it all in one sitting, but instead I chose to use it as a devotional and read some each day so that I could reflect on each section.

On several occasions, I found myself texting my husband to share sentences that I found to be inspirational. Other times, when we were laying next to each other in bed reading, I kept interrupting his focus, because I would read him a few paragraphs aloud that I thought were helpful!
Certain sections really spoke to my heart and made me take a deeper look. For instance on the subject of honesty in relationships, "When people with pure hearts meet, there is a mutuality of openness and authenticity between them...They do not fret about what the other person will think because their goal is to be faithful and true to what they are expressing. They know that lesser characters may take offense at the honesty and scurry away, but larger and grander souls will gravitate towards such faithful communication." (30)
The book of Proverbs is one of my favorite sections in the Bible. I appreciate the proverbs' poetic form of instruction. In Roaring Lions, I enjoyed the way Mr. Baldwin was able to draw from his own personal experiences and relate to many of the proverbs. His examples are not only interesting, but I believe they help to give readers a clearer meaning of each verse, as he gives concrete example of ways that we can apply the biblical principles to our own lives.
Mr Baldwin is offering one of my readers a chance to win a signed copy of his book! Leave me a comment today to be entered in a drawing. I will select a winner on February 1st using Random.org.
Good Luck to you all!
