A man has been detained pursuing an FBI inquiry into a Hollywood hacking ring which stole naked images from the phones and email accounts of celebrities.
It was the 1st detain in a year long search called Operation Hackerazzi, which has required making out those getting private photos from electronic devices belonging to female celebrities.
Last month nude photo of the actress Scarlett Johansson showed on the internet after allegedly being taken from her mobile phone by hackers.
Private photos or videos were also hacked from devices linking to the actresses Miley Cyrus and Vanessa Hudgens.
Miss Hudgens, a celebrity of the "High School Musical" series, met with FBI representatives at her lawyer's office in March over the hacking of her Gmail account.
She was said at the time to be "extremely disturb and annoyed."
Another victim was Mila Kunis with hackers taking personal photos of the actress and her "Friends With Benefits" co-star Justin Timberlake from her phone.
According to stories previous this year by star news website TMZ equal to 50 female stars had their mobile phones or other devices targeted. Actresses Jessica Alba and Selena Gomez, and singer Christina Aguilera, were allegedly amongst the victims.
The suspect was detained in Florida and is considered to have spread any photo obtained from the hacking to websites for free.
Speaking after having her confidential pictures stolen by hackers last month, Miss Johansson said: "Just because you're in the focus, or just because you're an actor or making films or anything, doesn't indicate that you're not permitted to your own personal privacy.
"I think no matter what the situation, if that is overwhelmed in some way, it feels unfair. It feels false." An FBI spokeswoman said Operation Hackerazzi engaged "computer impositions targeting individuals linked with the entertainment industry."
The "cyber impositions" may have targeted devices as well as desktop computers, laptops, iPads, mobile phones and private online accounts.
The FBI later said the supposed was Christopher Chaney of Jacksonville, Florida.
He was charged of hacking Google, Apple and Yahoo email accounts from the end of last year.
He purportedly taken over the forwarding aspects so that a copy of every email received by sufferers was sent nearly immediately to an account he controlled.
A condemnation said there were almost 50 sufferers and an FBI spokesman verified Miss Johansson was amongst them.
Chaney is accused with 25 counts of individuality theft, unauthorized access and unauthorized ruined to a secluded computer.
He purportedly obtainable some of the hacked stuff, including pictures, to websites and some of it was said to have been posted.
